UNOS Foundation, the fund-raising arm of the United Network for Organ Sharing, was established to allow UNOS to remain nimble and efficient in its mission to meet new and evolving challenges of the professional transplant community and the many patients and families who need organ transplants.

Mission Statement

The UNOS Foundation's purpose is to generate charitable support and private revenues that increase capacity, promote stability and advance the life-saving mission and goals of the United Network for Organ Sharing.

Funding Objectives

UNOS' activities span far beyond our role as the Organ Procurement and Transplant Network (OPTN) for the federal government. Private funds support:

• Public education and awareness activities
• Patient information Web site
• Professional education
• Capitol needs
• Technology equipment, infrastructure, programming and development
• Outcomes research and data analysis
• The National Donor Memorial
• Hume-Kauffman Transplantation Library and Archives
• General operations
